Dr. Shoemaker is CEO for Alereon. David has been involved in multiple start-ups and also has large company experience shipping over $100M in revenue over his career. He has been with Alereon since 2006, previously overseeing the company's engineering efforts as well as manufacturing operations. He has more than a decade of industry expertise designing RF, analog, and ASIC solutions, as well as developing software and system designs.
Prior to joining Alereon, Dr. Shoemaker was vice president of engineering for TZero Technologies, where he was responsible for managing a 45-person team focused on designing solutions for wireless UWB. He lead the development of a multiple-chip wireless system involving RF, mixed-signal and ASIC components, software and video applications. Prior to his tenure at TZero, Dr. Shoemaker was the director of engineering at RF Micro Devices, where he led an 80-person organization that included design teams in San Jose, Belgium and Russia.
In other previously held positions, Dr. Shoemaker acted as both a manager and as a developer in all phases of design from architecture to production ramp at previous companies such as Engim and Texas Instruments. In addition to his leadership and design expertise, Dr. Shoemaker is the author of several papers and patents that address wireless architecture and design.
Dr. Shoemaker holds B.S and M.S degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he later earned his PhD.
