Dirk Luthro serves Alereon as chief financial officer. Prior to joining Alereon, Luthro served as vice president of finance for Applied Science Fiction (ASF), where he was responsible for creating due diligence information for Series E Financing, developing budgets, creating a long term business model and helping negotiate the sale of the company to Eastman Kodak.
Luthro has more than 13 years of experience overseeing financial activities for leading technology and financial organizations. He held a variety of financial positions at Intel, serving as a financial analyst in the microprocessor design group and as both a senior financial analyst and capital manager for the technology manufacturing group. He helped oversee staff, provided support for an organization with a $400 million budget, managed contract costs and operational negotiations, and received several awards for his work – including the Intel Achievement Award in 1998.
Luthro began his professional career with Merril Lynch as a fund administration specialist, supervising pricing and dividend payment on mutual funds. He was promoted to business analyst where he helped manage a hardware capital budget of over $1M and a software systems project development budget in excess of $12M.
Luthro earned a BSBA from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of Texas.
