Add wireless docking capabilities to PCs and tablets
The Alereon AL6624 Worldwide Wireless Docking Station Reference Design Kit (RDK) is a turn-key manufacturing kit designed to enable the rapid development of Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless docking stations or monitors. This fourth generation design provides all the tools, software and design files required to quickly customize the design to meet your specific requirements and functionality. Based on an Alereon AL6000 family chipset, the Worldwide Wireless Docking Station assures worldwide capability and delivers the full potential of UWB technology free from WiFi interference.
Global companies require global solutions. Alereon offers the only wireless reference design capable of delivering the full promise of UWB while still meeting regulatory requirements around the globe. With an AL6000 family chipset, OEM/ODMs can manufacture a single product/SKU which is SW programmable for the valid channels allowed in each country that has approved UWB regulations, anywhere in the world. Featuring support for WiMedia band groups 1, 3, and 6, users have full access to more than 10 channels in any country, enabling the full 480 Mbps throughput of Wireless UWB for a true worldwide solution.
The completely integrated Worldwide Wireless Docking Station can attach to all standard peripherals associated with a laptop or tablet; including video, audio, and legacy wired USB devices. Alereon's optimized drivers supports high through-put video data speeds in access of 170 Mbps while simultaneously providing 50 Mbps to other downstream legacy wired USB devices and ports. In addition, the docking station drivers provides true bi-directional isochronous support to insure the proper scheduling of real time audio data and video traffic.
Complete Software Support
In addition to full design support, the Worldwide Wireless Docking Station includes application software that provides a graphical install wizard, radio controls and configuration menus supporting Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 and Mac operating systems. Diagnostic software tools for design verification and test purposes are also provided to insure fast bring-up, validation, and quick time-to-market. All required drivers, design files, and documentation are included.
